Japanese Modernism

Designed as an extension to a mid-century modern home in West LA, this artist studio and gallery serve as both a place to create and display contemporary internationally renowned art and sculpture. Inspired by Japanese art, architecture and craft, we clad the structure in Sho Sugi Ban sustainable and fire resistant wood.
