Established by Shawn David Brown in 2002, Vessel Studio is a multi-disciplinary architecture and design practice with a refined modernist sensibility.  The name originated from the premise that the Architect is the vessel that transports ideas from concept to reality and that Architecture  becomes the vessel from which we perceive our environment.  Each project embodies a unique character defined by the surrounding context, environment and most importantly, the client.

Shawn David Brown graduated from Virginia Tech in 1997 and Cornell University in 2005. He has worked for numerous prestigious architecture firms in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles where he has led design projects from conception to completion.  Past accolades include the winning entry for an International Bamboo Design competition, winning entry for the Yeosu Big "O" International Design Competition and several awards and publications for projects in North Carolina, California, New York and Pennsylvania.  His work has been published in countless periodicals and books including Digital Architecture, Interior Design, City Magazine, Trends and Frame. In addition to Vessel Studio, Shawn has also taught Architectural Design at Carnegie Mellon University and Cornell University.

Shawn is licensed to practice Architecture in California and New York and is a member of the AIA.
